Our House is proud to support entertainment worldwide and 3rd October sees the release of a DVD from our favourite sports entertainment, WWE.

Not only am I excited about a new WWE release, I am excited because the focus is on my favourite WWE Superstar, The Viper, Randy Orton.

Randy Orton: The Evolution of a Predator follows Orton in a similar fashion to the John Cena Experience, on his road to Wrestlemania and takes us through the rocky road of highs and lows that Randy has followed to become on of the most loved superstars of his generation.

This is an honest glimpse of the usually private Orton and features interviews with friends, family and colleagues who have known Orton through most of his career. The first laugh out loud moment is courtesy of John Cena who describes his first impression of Orton to be ‘a d**k’. This shows the level of change and growing up that Randy has done since he entered the WWE to become a locker room leader, a mentor and a respected friend and it is sweet to hear Cena describe him as a very good friend now.

Triple H and Arn Anderson don’t hold back as they recall this arrogant kid who has had to learn a lot in the business. Randy opens himself up to discuss his embarrassment over his behaviour and the wake up call of a drug overdose and the birth of his baby girl that has given him the strength to continue.

We see Orton as a family man, a dedicated husband and father and hear his wife Samanthas touching point of view.

Randy Orton: The Evolution of a Predator is a great insight into Orton. I appreciate that Orton or WWE did not try and sugar-coat his story into a ‘meant to be’ fairytale but instead gave us an honest look at The Viper and the business. It does have a fairytale ending as we see a focused, disciplined and respected man who has a wonderful wife and daughter to keep him grounded.

Randy Orton: The Evolution of a Predator 3 disc set is available from Silvervision for just £17.99, a must buy for any WWE fan. Click here to purchase

Hey Housemates!

Thanks to our friends at Silvervision we have had a sneak peak at the upcoming Wrestlemania 27 DVD. This latest title is the most anticipated WWE DVD of the year and includes huge Hollywood stars ranging from Snoop Dogg, Snooki from Jersey Shore, Keri Hilson and Steve Austin. Hosted by The Great One, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, the triple disc ‘promises to be the most electrifying WrestleMania in history’.

This DVD includes unseen footage from the event including the United States Championship Lumberjack Match with Daniel Bryan vs The Celtic Warrior, Sheamus. There is also a fantastic array of WWE Legendary moments featuring WWE’s most exciting Superstars, from John Cena, to Steve Austin, to Chris Jericho, DX, Rey Mysterio and more.

It’s a fun packed, unmissable DVD which also includes the tear jerking Hall of Fame where ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels is inducted by best friend Triple H and other Superstars such as original diva Sunny and the extraordinary tag team The Road Warriors are also honoured.

My personal Wrestlemania moment was the tremendous feud between the Viper Randy Orton and ‘Straight-edge’ Nexus leader CM Punk finally coming to a head. This was unarguably the match of the night, keeping WWE fans on the edge of their seats throughout. Jersey Shore star Snooki came out to rapturous boos from the crowd but held her own and surprised us all in her tag team match with Trish Stratus and John Morrison vs the evil Laycool and Dolph Ziggler. A match I enjoyed revisiting was Triple H vs The Undertaker. Any Wrestlemania match featuring The Undertaker is an instant classic and this is no exception, can Triple H beat the streak?

This DVD is a must have for any WWE fan and is available from the 4th July and you can order your copy now right here.

And keep it here WWE fans, Superstar Chris Jericho is joining Our House for an exclusive interview this week when he hits the UK with his tour with band Fozzy. He sent us a sneak peak of what to expect.

Yes, I was so excited to get this book, follow up to the New York Times bestseller ‘A Lions Tale’, I tweeted a picture to Mr @iamjericho himself. GEEK!
A Lions Tale took us through the journey of Chris Irvines life up to the point where he stepped out into the WWE Universe for the first time ever. Undisputed picks up from that point and brings us further into a touching and hilarious tale of life within the WWE, Rock Star tales, births and deaths.

The reason that I love Chris Jericho is his complete honesty and his ability to blend in with you and I. He makes mistakes and often has mishaps that will have you laughing out loud. My favourite stories include being told off by Sharon Osbourne (one can only sympathise with getting a mouthful off her!), life on the road with Fozzy (no pooping on the bus), a lesson learnt by drinking and driving and the backstage politics of the WWE (note to self, never work with Chyna). My new favourite phrases are ‘Anal Cunt’ and ‘froot’, needless to say, this book is super Froot.

Our House guests The Jokers supported Fozzy on a UK tour and it was fantastic to see guitarist Paul Hurst get a mention as he took Jericho on a Beatles tour of Liverpool followed up by a meeting with an ‘ex’ member of the Beatles Jonny Hutch who promptly passes on the message to give to Sir Paul McCartney should Chris ever cross paths ‘Tell im hes a fookin wanker’ – Nice. Below is a picture, Paul is the one at the front with long blonde hair next to your glamourous hostess Claire ;-)

I genuinely had a lump in my throat as I read of Jerichos struggle with his mothers decline in health, resulting in her passing. Another poignant story is of course the world famous one of Chris Benoit. We all read the stories and saw the news reports of this monster who murdered his wife and child then took his own life. Jericho explains Benoits personality very well and gives him some humanity and compassion that many people were quick to turn their back on. Jericho defends the wresting community well in this chapter, Vince will be proud.

This book was difficult to put down, so much so that I had it read in a couple of days and a sadness that left me wanting more! C’mon Chris, I hope your working on book number 3, don’t leave us waiting too long!

Chris Jericho – Undisputed

Hey Housemates!

No I am not insulting the 7ft giant that is The Big Show, this week Our House had a sneak preview of ‘Knucklehead’ the latest comedy to come from WWE Studios. Big Show plays Walter, an orphan with no real life experience, his best friends being the kids around him. It is a heart warming story as naive Walter agrees to participate in MMA fights, touring the US with ‘Eddie’, a con artist out to swindle as much money as he can.

I will be honest, I judged the film before I tried it and I am pleased to say that I mis – judged. My view is that wrestlers, particularly 7ft ones with a 64 inch chest and size 22 EEEEE feet (no, I didn’t lean on the keyboard!) thats right 22 EEEEE feet, should be utilized in action flicks or bad guy roles. That’s why is was pleasantly surprised to see Big Show take on a role that is more suited to the WWE’s PG audience.

The movie will make you laugh and cry, Mark Feuerstein portrays the sneaky Eddie well and will have won your heart by the end as Walter and Eddies friendship and trust grows throughout the film. WWE describe this as a ‘knockout comedy’ and I couldn’t agree more.

Special Features

• Knucklehead Moments: Bloopers & Beyond
• Welcome To The Show
• Bearly Surviving
• Commentary Track
• Photo Gallery

Knucklehead is available NOW for only £9.99. If there’s one thing I love about WWE DVD’s, they are a steal and worth every penny. To purchase your copy, visit our friends at Silvervision here…….

WWE’s Big Show is a Knucklehead!

Hey Housemates,

As lifelong WWE fans, we were delighted when santa dropped an extra prezzie for us this Christmas courtesy of our friends at Silvervision. The John Cena Experience is a triple DVD boxset containing a behind the scenes documentary and bursting with classic matches.

The documentary truly does give fans ‘The John Cena Experience’. We follow John through a grueling work schedule that focuses on his heavy workload in the weeks leading to the main event – Wrestlemania. To begin with, I felt as though the clever WWE marketing department were filling this DVD with subtle advertisements. We see a lengthy feature dedicated to the WWE movie ‘Legendary’ and we even have a section called ‘John Cena on Mattel’ which is a blatant advert for the Mattel action figures. I was however, able to look past these distractions to see what a star John Cena truly is and how hard he works to be the top name in the WWE right now.

For any fan that has ever wanted to know what goes on behind the scenes, this is perfect. We see John take on an ESPN press junket that involves many, many interviews for different stations, we also see the less glamourous side to this where his is in a room with a phone and a list of radio stations to call. We see Johns incredible dedication to the Make a Wish Foundation and follow him to a Seven Eleven to promote his ‘Cup with a Cause’ to make more children’s dreams come true. We even see him hit the gym and it is interesting to see how and where he gets that incredible strength from.

Johns entertainment side shines through, not only is he is superstar, he is an actor on TV and in movies, he is a rapper and he is one MAD crazy car enthusiast. Seriously, CRAZY! It is nice to see this side of John Cena, he gives so many people across the globe such a buzz, it is great to see him excited about something as a fan.

Sometimes the John Cena character on RAW drives me nuts a little with his wholesome mr perfect ways so it was great to finally see John Cena as a person with a sense of humor. One of my favorite parts was backstage at Wrestlemania when John gave an impromptu performance of Cody Rhodes’ theme music ‘Smoke and Mirrors’. This definitely portrayed his cracking sense of humour.

Gosh, that was just disc 1! Discs 2 and 3 showcase some of Cenas finest matches dating back to 2004 and featuring some classic WWE Superstars such as Booker T and Kurt Angle. It is fantastic to see John’s journey from a young up and coming to the amazing talent that he is today.

To purchase the DVD for just £17.99 click the picture above. I also have WWE HELL IN A CELL 2010 to give away to one of you lucky housemates!!!! To win all you need to do is leave a comment below and I will pick a winner at random – simples!! Good Luck xxx

The John Cena Experience

Author: Claire | Filed under: 2011, DVD Reviews

Chris Jericho begins this DVD by announcing that as a child he wanted to be 2 things. A wrestler and a rock star.
Breaking The Code: Behind The Walls Of Chris Jericho is the story of those dreams come true.

This three disc set includes an in depth documentary on the remarkable career of Chris Jericho. Interviews with the man himself and top WWE superstars such as Big Show, Edge, Bret Hart, John Cena and Chavo guide us through a truly incredible journey that began in Winnipeg, Canada and lead to worldwide success. Videos of baby Chris playing hockey, soccer and swimming with commentary from his dad lead us into the long haired wannabe rock star teenager Chris who decided to go to the Harts wrestling camp.

Its nice to hear Chris and Lance Storm reminiscing about where it all began and to see the training videos from camp. Lance and Chris talk about their focus to make it, and make it they did. We go on a journey through this documentary from camp through to the Lucha Libre style of Mexico, to the strip clubs and McDonalds of Germany and to the culture shock of Japan.

It’s very interesting to see how hard work really paid off. Chris Jericho gained experience on the road, how to do promos and entertain crowds, he lived his dream before finally hitting that top ladder, the ‘mythical, magical land of Oz’ the WWE. Chris talks of his exciting entrance with the countdown clock that still today is regarded as one of the best entrances in WWE. We hear his thoughts on working with powerhouse diva Chyna and WWE princess Stephanie McMahon.

My favourite part of the story is Jerichos excitement over the news that he was to finally turn heel when he was working for WCW. The ideas he had, the videos he made of becoming a cry baby show the birth of one of the greatest heels in WWE history.

The fun doesn’t end as the self proclaimed ‘Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla’ was working on dream number 2 – ROCK STAR! We hear from Fozzy band mate Rich Ward and see the excitement build as Fozzy hit the road to rock the world on tour. Click here for some exclusive Our House Fozzy pics.

Chavo hits the nail on the head when he describes Chris Jericho as ‘the total package’. He is an author, entertainer and singer. He works hard and parties hard. One of the best, no, THE best WWE documentary evvvveeerrr! And thats just the beginning, there are 2 other discs including the very best championship matches and plenty of funny extras including stories from fellow Canadian superstar Christian.

To buy the DVD visit Silvervision here, its only £17.99! Bargain and and absolute must have for any wrestling fan.

Stay tuned wrestling fans, an all new OHM Reports will be giving away The Undertakers Deadliest Matches 3 DVD set soon……

Hey Housemates,

Our House loves to be entertained so when the biggest entertainment engine in the world rolled into Manchester this week, we could not resist. The WWE knows how to put on a show. The Our House crew has been to a few WWE events now and I have to say that going to a ‘house’ show is a lot more fun that going to a TV taping such as this. The difference? In a house show it runs as a complete show and there is much more fan interaction. If ever I describe the WWE to my friends, I always say “it’s just a grown up pantomime!”. This weeks taping of Monday Night Raw was a bit stop, start.

The show opened with the fantastic John Cena. Cena has a mixed reaction from fans but in Manchester he was very clearly being booed! I thought that this would be great for Manchester’s own Wade Barrett. Surely if the crowd are booing Cena, they are here to cheer on the homecoming of the current WWE headliner. The crowd certainly had mixed feelings! Poor Michael Cole got the biggest boo of the night as he spoke on behalf of the anonymous general manager to announce a 10 man tag team with guest referee – John Cena.

Raw has suffered recently, CM Punk and Triple H are out with injuries, Shawn Michael’s retired following his defeat at Wrestlemania 26 and legend Chris Jericho has taken a time out to tour with his band. So we are being over run with Nexus. There were 2 Nexus matches this evening, I was disappointed that divas Laycool were not on hand to entertain, instead we were stuck with WWE Diva fail ‘Manchester Derby’ which comprised of Manchester United shirts versus Liverpool!!! Ooops.

The highlight of the night was Santinos tea party, where in an attempt to befriend the Celtic Warrior Sheamus, Santino only made his situation worse by insulting his ginger hair and pale skin. Valdimir Kozlov added fantastically as a comedy sidekick and as hard as Sheamus thinks he is, we could definitely see him holding back his urge to crack up laughing.

The headline match was Team Orton versus Team Nexus. It was so much fun to see all of our favourite superstars in one place. R Truth, Mark Henry, The Miz and Daniel Bryan were on hand to back up the fantastic Randy Orton. It was all going so well for Orton until opportunist and back stabber The Miz planted a skull crushing finale on the viper, handing the victory over to the Nexus.

Overall, the entertainment value was perfect, I had a lot of fun, cheering my favorites but I think that the WWE need to do something drastic to breathe some more life into the show. I heard that DX are reforming this weekend and Triple H has already made a brief appearance. Could this be a sign of things to come?

Tell us what you think, leave your comment, who would you like to see back in the ring? And who do you think is the anonymous Raw General Manager?

Our House @ WWE Monday Night Raw

This summer has been competitive at the box office, we have seen the return of Buzz and Woody in Toy Story 3D, box office gold from Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz along with Hollywood hard hitters Leonardo DiCaprio and Angelina Jolie. Lets not forget the incredible cast of Sylvester Stallones Expendables that unites some of the biggest and baddest action stars that we have seen over the years.

The Expendables

Starring…..well, who is it not starring? Sly, Arnie, Bruce, Statham, Austin, Li, Rourke and just about every action star you can think of stars in this high octane action packed adventure. I have to admit, Sly did good getting together such an amazing cast and allowing each person to shine in their own right.

The story focuses on a team of mercenaries who head to South America with a mission to eliminate their dictator. The team go on a fantastic adventure of betrayal, explosions, fighting and VERY LOUD guns! I am not one for spoilers but this is definitely a film you will not want to miss this summer.

Inception

What just happened??!!! I honestly do not know if I like this movie or not. The fact that I doubt myself makes me more inclined to think that I dislike it. It’s a very clever film about a man (Leonardo Dicaprio) who can enter peoples dreams to steal secrets for a price.

It sounds simple enough and I am good at suspending my disbelief but mix that in with personal issues, entering different dreams at the same time and a bum numbing two hours, I just wanted it to end.

Other people seem to like it but give me 2 hours of mind numbing violence over this any day!

Salt

I am not a fan of Angelina Jolie. So I had already judged this film before I’d seen it…..boring! Now I have to admit that I made a mistake because from the very get go, I was hooked. Angelina plays a C.I.A agent thrown into turbulence very well and keeps the action moving well throughout.

Erica Salt is a seemingly regular person, married with dog, perfect job, perfect life until a Russian soldier turns up and accuses Salt of being an undercover Russian agent. Salt goes on the run, leaving you wondering if she is the good guy or the bad guy. The film does not stop moving which is why I liked it so much, it is action scene after action scene, Angelina does not stop running and kicks butt from start to finish. Definitely go and see this film.
